Frequently Asked Questions

How long is an Alexander Technique lesson?
An Alexander lesson is usually 45 minutes long.

How many lessons do I need to benefit from the Alexander Technique?
An introductory course is 30 lessons, usually scheduled once or twice a week.

Do I have to commit to 30 lessons in advance?
No. I encourage potential students to take advantage of the two for one trial offer. After two lessons you will have a good idea of what to expect from a series of lessons.

I’m curious about the weekly intensives (3 or more lessons per week). Do I have to commit to 30 lessons that frequently?
No. Weekly intensives are recommended, especially at the beginning. You can continue studying once or twice a week as your schedule allows.

What if I’m interested but can’t afford lessons?
The two for one trial offer is affordable to almost anyone. After two lessons, we can explore ways for you to afford to continue studying the Technique.

Is the Alexander Technique just for violinists?
No. The Alexander Technique is for anyone interested in studying how they move. The Technique is, however, very helpful for violinists.
